This is about functional training - strengthening your body so that you will feel strong, confident and capable out on the mountain. When you’re feeling your strongest most confident self the joy of being in the mountain will take over.

 

THE 4 COMPONENTS OF YOUR TRAINING PROGRAM:

  • STRENGTH - This portion will focus on your core and lower body in both static and dynamic movements. Boost muscle power. Strengthen the areas that get worked the most: your core, quads, glutes, hamstrings and hips. Each week will get progressively more challenging to build muscle and challenge your functional capacity.

  • ENDURANCE - Condition your body so you can hike without packing it in before you’re ready. There will be a mix of dynamic body-weight plyometric circuits and cardio work to challenge your endurance and elevate your heart rate pushing your body through increasingly longer intervals to prepare you for those long top to bottom runs.

  • MOBILITY - We’ll be focusing on balance, mobility, and stability. Work your core and the muscles around your hips, which in turn helps provide stability to injury-prone areas such as the knees.

  • RECOVERY & VISUALIZATION - Focusing on rest days, stretching, flexibility, and getting you in the right frame of mind to take your winter activities to the next level.
